About Me

My background is primarily in childrens clothing repairs and alterations, some costume making, a fair amount of upcycling furniture and my main passion, as you will see,  is most definitely for handmade craft. I wanted an outlet to display my handmade bits,  as it gives me such pleasure to create special individual and unique pieces. However over the years I've literally had my fingers in so many different 'crafting' pies (quite literally - pie making & eating).

Sewing has dominated my life, never far from a sewing machine, or a bag of rags that are just too special to part with. This fascination is a result of having a family tree that is littered with seamstresses and 'can-do' handy men, my dear mother was a keen seamstress. My amazing sister is a huge inspiration to me for starting this site. Having spend our childhood in the Fashion Capital of the world, Rome, we were surrounded by hardworking aunties who together ran a fur coat making business.

Wether its a maths game project, or just to pass the time on a rainy sunday afternoon, crafting is something i choose over TV, and i encourage my children to do the same. Art is therapy, it nourishes the soul and brings such happiness and light.

I doubt i will ever just dedicate myself fully to one media format so instead I will try my hardest to incorporate a little bit of everything and share it/store it, right here in one magical place right here on TyDe Craft.

So please explore my site, and enjoy the fruits of my time and creative side. My work is sometimes inspired by fairytales and folk lore, photography and the vintage kitsch pretties I surround myself with. There is quite a feline theme within the site too, as one is heavily inspired the one true thing I love the most;  Sweet Hearts.
